Sadly, the insects, butterflies and bees that form the essential backbone of nature's ecosystem are losing their fight to survive. As their numbers reduce, the food chain for our birds and other wildlife disappears and their numbers decline. During the last 40 years* the Tree Sparrow has lost an astonishing 93% of its population, the Starling and Song Thrush 70% the Skylark 53% and the Linnet 57%.
By re-introducing native wildflowers from seed to your garden or meadow you can create and improve habitats for insect, bird and mammal life. Wildflowers encourage butterflies, moths, bumblebees, hoverflies and other insects, as well as the birds and the small mammals that feed on these insects. Wildflowers themselves are beautiful and will add colour, character and scent to your garden or meadow. It's a small act but one that can only help re-establish natures natural balance. A garden full of insects soon becomes home to all the other animals that depend upon them. Plant wildflowers in your garden and watch the wildlife return.
